5 NHSC-Service Challenge Need: Over 23,000 Clinicians are Needed to Provide an Adequate Level of Access to Health Care Demand: Almost 3,000 Requests for Recruitment Assistance have been Received from Underserved Communities Response: About 2,400 NHSC Clinicians are Serving Nationwide Clinicians Needed Clinicians Requested NHSC Serving

7 National Center for Health Workforce Information and Analysis (National Center) Mission and Strategic Plan Highlights Mission: Collect, analyze, and disseminate health workforce information and facilitate national, state, and local workforce planning efforts. Strategic Plan Functions: Function 1: Collect health professions related data. Function 2: Assist State and local workforce planning efforts. Function 3: Conduct issues related analyses. Function 4: Conduct evaluations of health professions training programs. Function 5: Develop tools and conduct research on health workforce.
