Introduction By Katie Cribb burglar alarm (house alarm)

Burglar alarm This is a house alarm for when brake ins from burglars. Cost:£100-£250 Weight:3kg Property crime can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Check out these fast facts about property crime and find out what you can do to reduce the risk of danger to you, your family and your home. 1 out of 10 homes will be burglarized this year. We face a 99% chance of falling victim to burglary or theft. Property crimes are the most frequently reported crimes in this country. Did you know? 41 % of burglaries at homes with alarm systems occur while the system is not armed. 12 % of burglaries are through an unlocked door. 6 % of Home Burglaries are from upper-floor windows. 17.7 % of home burglaries are from the front door. 30.9 % of home burglaries are from first-floor windows. 27.7 % of home burglaries are from back door. 8.9 % of home burglaries are from Sliding glass door. The probability of a burglary at a commercial site with an alarm system is 1.66 %. The probability of a burglary at a commercial site without an alarm system is 7.59 %. The probability of a burglary at a residential site without an alarm system is 14.8 %. The probability of a burglary at a residential site with an alarm system is 6.6 % I found this information on Google which has lots of information about burglar's and how to stop them. Burglary is defined as the unlawful entry of a structure to commit a felony or theft. Burglary is also known as an invasion or intrusion There were an estimated 2,103,787 burglaries and 354,520 robberies. The types of people to use it is people who have been broken into in the past or want to keep there house safe and out of reach of thief's and burglars. client Automated locks, Its required that an alarm goes off when it senses someone near trying to brake into you're property. It alarms you when its going to go off. I found this information on the internet

What is a burglar alarm? A Burglar alarm is a devise that detects when someone try's braking into your home and taking things that belong to you, It senses when someone that isn't you getting into your house and makes noises so that you know when they come if you wasn’t aware. burglar alarm system makes you less likely to become a victim of burglary. You can gets lots of different types of burglar alarms depending on the high quality of the alarm and how much security you want, This will prevent your house getting broken into They all come at different prices but they all do the same sort of thing. Home security is an important factor for many homeowners, and there are many security measures a homeowner can take. From trimming bushes back to installing deadbolt locks and motion sensing lights, there are numerous things homeowners can do to protect their home from would-be intruders. One of the most secure measures a homeowner can take is to install a burglar alarm system. When choosing a burglar alarm, consider what you hope to achieve. If you live in an area with high crime rates or in a rural area with few or no neighbours, or if you travel frequently. Before you decide which type of burglar alarm is right for your home, consult with a security company to discuss your options. Make sure to consider what the system monitors, how easy it is for those living with you to work the system, and how much it will cost.

Would that be better or worse? Burglar alarm What material would you use? Plastic Or metal? Metal would be easier as it would be harder for people to brake in. Think of how people could get in? Could people see it? Would it be water proof? Would it be a good idea? Home security is of the utmost importance to many homeowners who seek to protect the safety and security of their family, home and personal property. Who would want one in their home? Any gender would buy it I think that Everyone should have one of these in there one to help them be safe and to protect them. Useful Something you would have forever and wouldn’t brake. Yes it would be. Yes but it wouldn’t brake or stop working if it wasn’t waterproof. Battery powered Normal AA batteries They come at all different prices Depends on which one you wanted anybody Where would you put it? Outside on the wall or anywhere on the outside of your home Anyone could buy it, Everyone can have one. Its also important to have one because you know you're save and don’t have to worry about getting a burglar brake into your home. Keep out or reach of small children. How is it made and what resources?

How you would make it? To make it you will have to look at what material would be best and how you wanted it powered, either battery or Plug in. You will have to choose what Tools to use and how you're going to make it work properly so it can detect when people are there. The first thing to look at when considering a burglar alarm and home security is the location of your home. Homes situated close to a park, wooded area or a major highway are often a mark for criminals. If you have had a burglar in the past you are more aware of what can happen,Therefor safer for you and whoever is living with you is safe in their own home. Home security often begins with doors, and unless you have solid doors with deadbolt locks and reinforced strike plates, you’re at risk. Dead-end streets, as well as those with little traffic, are prime targets for experienced burglars, Because they think there not Going to get broken into. In the past there have been thousands of burglars and Each year people get more and more aware of what can happen, So they buy a burglar alarm to keep there home safe. When you have a burglar in your home it would make you feel safe about going out and not being there all the time, Also leaving all your things behind when you leave the house.

Here is some pictures of all the different burglar alarms you can get and There are lots of different types and ranges to choose from. Both wireless and hardwired burglar alarm systems can be set up to exclude certain areas of the premises. Many police jurisdictions charge for responding to a false alarm. Repeated false alarms cause neighbours and law enforcement to disregard the alarm when help may be most needed. The components of an alarm system consist of a main control unit, a sounder or siren and one or more detection devices. Many thieves will spend no longer than 60 seconds trying to break into a home. Thieves cut phone line because it reduces the chance of the alarm signal being sent to the station and them being caught. A visible physical deterrent can make the difference between a burglary or the criminal moving on to a easier unprotected target

The design specification The product should be controlled by a picaxe- 20M microcontroller It should include five LEDs,to show weather the alarm is turned on and which sensor has been activated. It should include an off/on switch and a download socket, so that it can be reprogrammed to turn it on and then off again after. The total cost of the parts used can be anything from less then £100 or more if you want a newer one if you wish. The product must be suitable for one-off production. The product should be linked to two contact sensors and two motion sensors, using multi-core wire. There must be no sharp edges on the enclosures. The PCB,siren and batteries must be secured within the closure so that they cannot move around. It should include a relay to operate a siren, which can be heard up to 30 metres away. It should be positive be open both enclosures to change the batteries.however,it must be positive to close them to prevent water entering. It needs to be able to have sound so you know when it needs to go off, Making it work and make you aware. I used this information from a book I read called GCSE design and technology electronic products.

Input Switch Push to make switch. Output speaker/siren Make a noise when someone try's to break in. Process How its going to work. Microcontroller. v Idea 1 for burglar alarm Logic gates Mono stable buzzer The problem with this system diagram is that if the burglar left then the switch will turn off and the alarm would stop so it wouldn’t be helping or let you know you’ve been broken into and would be just pointless and would just be no point in turning it on.

Idea 2 for burglar alarm Here is my circuit diagram for a burglar alarm which I made it on circuit wizard, Here is what it looks like as a diagram with all the components and Here it is in the diagram below.

Idea 3 for burglar Here is my flowchart are to go with my microcontroller.

My circuit board Here is what my circuit board should look like when its finished. This is a house which a burglar alarm will protect from getting broken into

Pros to having an alarmCons to having an alarm Keeps your house safe protects your house Easy to operate Cost too much Look ugly

My presentation is suitable because it gives appropriate information and is easy to understand
