Electronics Travel Games Name: Centre Number: 20069 Candidate Number:

Mind Map Games and entertainment for use during travel Travel Conclusion Introduction

Mood board Find images connected with ‘travel’ or ‘games’ Add notes to help the reader understand what key points you have achieved Conclusion Introduction

Design Brief and Action Plan Write a simple sentence that explains what you are making, who for and why it is needed. My action plan: 1.Need to look at trends over time of similar or existing products 2.Need to analyse first hand a hand held game i.e PSP or bop it 3.Need to look at how my design can be sustainable – eco considerations 4.Need to ask for more information from potential clients - interview 5.Need to identify suitable electronic components 6.Need to put together a control system design proposal - design ideas Conclusion Introduction

6 Ws of Analysis Who What Where Why When How Conclusion Introduction

Trends Find out how games have changed over time Conclusion Introduction

Primary Research Look closely at a product. Introduction Conclusion

Primary Product Research – Eco Design Web Overall score for sustainability rating Materials wastage during production Distance that materials and product has been transported Easy to take apart when finished with, making re-use or recycling easier Easy to repair Durability-Designed and made to last Energy used during production and use Use of reclaimed or recycled materials Introduction Conclusion

Client Interviews Homeowner 1 is married and has recently had her first baby Homeowner 2 is a retired engineer Where and when would they use my door alarm? She said that she would use it on her conservatory door if they are inside the house, it’s the most likely place of entry since intruders can climb over the door to her garden or climb over the fence and get easy access to it. He said that he would also use it on his back door because he already has one for his front door. He would use it when he is asleep so that he is woken up if anyone breaks in. If you were to use my door alarm, would you want it to use a buzzer? She said that she wouldn’t want a buzzer at this time because it would wake up the baby and frighten him, but when he gets older she would be fine with one. He wanted it to use a very load buzzer so that he would be woken up and a robber would be deterred from staying. What would be a better alternative method of alerting you? She wanted something that would vibrate like a phone on silent so that it doesn’t disturb the baby, but she’d still know if someone opened the door. He said that anything that made a load noise would do and that maybe a piezo transducer would be good. What features would you want from my alarm? She said it needs to not turn off when the door closes because she might not notice if the vibration is brief, and she might think it was a phone He said the alarm has to stay on for a fairly long amount of time otherwise he might be woken up or he might not know what caused him to wake up Introduction Conclusion

Specification My door alarm must: Be triggered when the door opens Alert the user to the door opening Not turn off when the door closes Use a reed switch Make a loud noise when triggered Be able to be disabled/enabled Use a buzzer as the output Use a 9V battery Make one long tone Turn off by itself Introduction Conclusion

Circuit ideas Add at least two detailed circuit ideas. Below are three ideas that you could select from. Introduction Conclusion

Evaluation of Circuit ideas Specification PointCircuit 1Circuit 2 Introduction Conclusion

Circuit Development 1.Show how you have designed the circuit in step by step; annotate the circuits. 2.Show how you have designed the PCB step by step to 100% Introduction Conclusion

Development

Modelling my final design Describe how you have tried to see if your final design works Add a bread board of the control system showing the control system working. Introduction Conclusion NEW

Final circuit idea 1.Image of the selected circuit design idea. 1.Annotate the circuit diagram 2.List the parts needed (Bill of materials) 3.Explain how the circuit work 4.Add some information about the input, process and output. Introduction
