11 Community Action Purpose: To improve the quality of involvement with University of San Francisco clubs and organizations and the San Francisco community by redefining their initial community service requirements and turning it into ACTION. This involvement will not only create a relationship with the greater San Francisco/Bay Area but will also enhance the goals and mission of the participating organizations. Definition of Community Action: An activity or service relating to a club/organizations mission, that directly benefits an organization or a particular community. (e.g. a Latino/a based organization tutoring children in a predominantly Latino/a high school in San Francisco). Your club members receive benefits by learning more about how their project makes a difference in the lives of the project recipients, and the recipients receive benefits that only the club/organization could provide.

12 The core mission of the University is to promote learning in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. The University offers undergraduate, graduate and professional students the knowledge and skills needed to succeed as persons and professionals, and the values and sensitivity necessary to be men and women for others. The University will distinguish itself as a diverse, socially responsible learning community of high quality scholarship and academic rigor sustained by a faith that does justice. The University will draw from the cultural, intellectual and economic resources of the San Francisco Bay Area and its location on the Pacific Rim to enrich and strengthen its educational programs. 16 Laugh out Loud Mission: To perfect the art of improvisation. To inspire, train, develop and nurture talent of all ages through the rehearsals and weekly live performances. Our goal is to create a community of performers who can develop their talents in a supportive setting. A safe environment of trust, support, growth, and freedom allows our performers to showcase their individual talent in a group dynamic.

17 Green Corps Today, the state of our environment is a household issue: global warming is in the news every day, students across the country are rallying to green their campuses, celebrities are speaking out for a host of causes, and schoolchildren are asking why the adults have let these things happen. This increased visibility and cultural awareness creates an enormous opportunity for environmentalists; it’s our best chance ever to engage the public to push for solutions. The mission of Green Corps is to train organizers, provide field support for today’s critical environmental campaigns, and activists who possess the skills, temperament, and commitment to fight and win tomorrow’s environmental battles. Engaging people -- taking public concern and translating it into action -- is the work of organizers.

18 Reins of Life Mission: To improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities through equine-assisted therapy.
