3 Cost Estimates cost is still estimated at $6720; may be lower a spreadsheet will be available soon, to calculate the actual NET cost of the TREN Term Abroad program to you BUUIC residence availability has been confirmed (big cost savings!)

4 Timelines ‘Door to door’ duration of formal program: 128 days (05 January – 14 May) BUUIC Spring Term runs from 12 January – 12 May 2015 (16 weeks, including field program) Departure from Canada: 06 Jan 2015 Hong Kong: 07 – 11 Jan 2015 Term ends 12 May 2015 Return to Canada on 15 May 2014

5 Courses TREN 3F94: International Field Course 24 days in the field, from Phuket (south) to Myanmar border (north), and Isan (northeast) to Kanchanaburi (west)

6 Courses TREN 4P19: Heritage in the Digital Age Digital interpretation of heritage resources in and around Bang Saen, Thailand

7 Courses

8 BUUIC courses: –Marine Tourism –One other BUUIC course (e.g., Rural Tourism, Agritourism) –Thai language and culture courses available

10 Insurance Technically, you have insurance coverage through Brock’s extended health insurance plan for the duration of your program Supplemental health insurance is highly recommended, and necessary for travels outside of formal program period Many of you may already have travel or health insurance from outside providers through family plans – check carefully!

11 Questions from family, etc. Parents, family, spouses, significant others sometimes have questions about your involvement Feel free to contact me by phone, in person, or by email for further information Family and friends can sometimes join the non-academic portion of our field program at their own expense, if circumstances permit (may help with overall costs)
