14 Strength Powerful retail brand with a reputation for value for money, convenience and a wide range of products all in one store. Weakness Since Wal-Mart sell products across many sectors (such as clothing, food, hard goods, stationary), it may not have the flexibility of some of its more focused competitors Opportunity Opportunities exist for Wal-Mart to continue with its current strategy of large, super centers and international growth. Threat Being number one means that they are the target of competition, locally and globally.

15 Strengths Nike is a global brand. It’s the number one sports brand in the World. The famous 'Swoosh‘ logo is instantly recognizable, and Phil Knight even has it tattooed on his ankle Weakness Nike has a diversified range of sports products. However, the income of the business is still heavily dependent on it’s share of the footwear market. Nike is vulnerable if that market share erodes. Opportunities There is opportunity to develop products such as sport wear, sunglasses and jewelry. Such accessory items have high profits margins. Threats The sports shoes market is is very competitive. Nike’s business model (high value branded product at a low Cost) is now commonly used. Competitors are developing brands to take Nike's market share
