5 November 2003 doc.: IEEE 802.15.SG4a-03/0430r0 Submission Slide 5Rick Roberts, Harris Corporation Both these applications one have element in common … they are covert. 1.A soldier or a police officer in a hostile situation does not want their location revealed … even their approximate location! 2.A security sensor deployment situation may not want to have the location of sensors revealed … or even that there are sensors deployed. 3.Some modulation formats inherently lack LPD properties when subjected to higher order spectral processing techniques … an example is BPSK used in conjunction with a squaring non- linearity.
