1. Historic Digimap Historical maps and data from the Ordnance Survey maps from the 1840s to the 1990s.

3. Scroll into your area with your mouse. Use the Time scrollbar to see the available maps. Overlapping Map Selection will turn red to let you select the appropriate county. Use the Zoom Tool to draw a rectangle and zoom in to a location.

4. Search for a location by place name, grid reference, coordinates, or by clicking on the map.

5. The Overview Map shows your location via contemporary maps.

6. Map Information enables dynamic updates to the display. Panning and zooming will change the information shown.

7. Click Save – My Map Enter a title Click Save Save as screen image enables you to create simple images of historical maps to save to your computer which can then be embedded in documents as either PNG or JPEG.

10. The 2 up View shows two historic maps of the same location but from different decades, at the same time. This allows places to be shown side by side to see how the landscape has changed over time. 2up View

11. Print the map Click the icon to create a PDF of the map, which can be printed. Options are given on the left for customisation. Generate a file for printing add map title, choose print format option to include annotations, national gridlines move map around in preview

12. Historic Download allows you to select and download historical Ordnance Survey maps from Landmark Information Group for use in graphics, GIS or CAD software

13. There are 3 different historical mapping products to choose from.

14. Select from the given options, including Original Sheets, National Grid Tiles, or Both.

15. Search for locations with place names, Grid Refs, Historic County or Parish. Select Tiles then click Continue. Select a map product.

16. Name your order here. You can select tiles to delete from your order Enter and Confirm your email address. The order will be confirmed and delivered via email.

17. The order will be confirmed and delivered via email. Click My Account page to see your orders.

18. My Account allows you to see your orders, select your orders and view order details. The emailed download link can be resent if you require repeat downloads.
