Pupils must also have a reading book for every English lesson. English – Year 7 Overview

Written homework is set according to the pupil’s homework timetable Sometimes homework will be given by the teacher, sometimes it will be set on Moodle If pupils have difficulty completing their homework, they MUST see their teacher before the deadline Homework

English resources are organised by topic on Moodle. Pupils will be able to access homework tasks, lesson resources and suggested wider reading materials from home. Our LRC (Learning Resource Centre) has a page on Moodle. Here you can find recommended reads and information about upcoming events such as the Spelling Bee competition. Moodle

Provide a quiet work area for your child to complete all homework. Have a supply of stationery that your child may require: pens, pencils, a ruler, a dictionary etc. Revision guides will be available from the LRC for all subjects. How can you help your child?

Ensure your child has a reading book for school and encourage them to read at home. All pupils MUST have a reading book for all English lessons. Use Moodle to find out their next topics and encourage your child to work independently to research and carry out wider reading to strengthen their understanding in the classroom. How can you help your child?
