3 Purpose of this evening To share information related to the students and the curriculum To convey the importance of working together to ensure the highest levels of personal and academic excellence To introduce differences in our assessment practice

6 The role of the form tutors Ease the transition between GCSE and Advanced level study (same form tutor for Years 12 and 13) Provide help and support Be there to listen Encourage and motivate Lead in the spiritual life of the Sixth Form Regular monitoring and reporting Offer career advice and guidance Write university references

9 Yr 12 Curriculum Each Advanced level course involves up to 6 taught lessons. The expectation is that the same amount of time is spent on independent study as the time spent in lessons. In addition; Core Theology – one lesson per week PSE – one lesson per week ALL GIRLS 4 AS subjects = 24 lessons + up to 2 additional lessons + private study 3 AS subjects = 18 lessons + up to 2 additional lessons + private study

14 Independent Learning Independent learning is of key importance in Sixth Form Students have to use their time effectively We expect the girls to use the library and sixth form study areas to work independently or in small study groups. After a successful induction period and positive reports from subject teachers off site study can be timetabled for an afternoon session, ONCE only per week This will be from the week beginning 13 th October.
