U-8 Line-ups: Goalie Probably 3-1-3-1 3 defenders – 1 defensive midfield  Defenders play on defensive half  Defensive midfielder plays D and attacks up to bottom of circle 3 midfielders - 1 forward  Midfielders play entire field  Forwards play defense from bottom of the circle to attacking goal-line Provides great triangle passing situations

14. U-8 Points of Emphasis Kicking the ball properly Inside of foot for accuracy Passing Head up finding open teammates Staying in positions Spread out and keep passing lanes open

15. U-10 Lineup Probably 3-1-3-2 3 defenders – 1 defensive midfielder  Defenders play defense and begin to cover for each other 3 midfielders – 2 forwards  Primarily offense, although midfield plays both Provides great triangle passing situations

16. U-10 Points of Emphasis Team work and positions Can start “switching” positions Proper throw-ins Both feet down – both hands over the head Free kicks Set plays off of free kicks
