2 Our Mission Statement ACMS is committed to fostering a safe and caring community that encourages learning and empowers student growth.

3 Code of Expectations Responsibility Positive Attitude + Respect for People and Property = SUCCESS! Amos Comenius Memorial School believes that if you practice responsibility, approach life with a positive attitude, and have respect for yourself, others, and personal and public property, you are much more likely to achieve success.

4 Success means: Respect from others! Career Choices! Making your community a better place for EVERYONE! Knowledge of the world you are in! Time flies! More fun for everyone!

5 Responsibility We, the students and staff of ACMS pledge to be responsible in the following ways: 1.We shall be prepared for class. This means: We have used the bathroom and had a drink. We have our school bag, notebook, pencil, and text. 2. We shall be safe and kind to each other. This means: Walking in the halls. Keeping hands off. Using a kind voice (without swearing or talking back). Cooperating with classmates, staff, and guests of the school. 3. We shall study, complete homework, projects, and assignments. 4. We shall be on time for class and attend regularly. 5. We shall set goals that are good for our education and work hard to achieve them. 6. We shall be accountable for our choices and our actions. 7. We shall be responsible for ourselves, our actions, and our property when attending school sponsored activities, both in and out of the community.

We shall work co-operatively to achieve our goals. This means: Working together. Helping each other. 3. We shall see the good in others, and ourselves. 4. We shall look to role models for guidance/help. For example: Teachers Friends Family Other community members 5. We shall do our best to have a positive attitude and to take pride in reaching our goals and staying in school. 6. We shall have a positive school sprit. We can do this by: Cheering for school groups. Taking part in school activities. 7. When we have a serious problem that we cannot fix alone, we will speak to someone we trust. This might be: Teachers Family Friends Other Community members Police

We shall respect other peoples' minds, bodies, thoughts and feelings. These people may be: Students Teachers Guests Community Members Or other people 2. We shall respect other peoples' goals, ideas, and working abilities. (We know they may not be the same as ours). 3. We shall not use our words and bodies to harm others. We, the students and staff of ACMS pledge to respect others in the following ways: 1. We shall respect other peoples' minds, bodies, thoughts and feelings. 10 Respect for Property We, the students and staff of ACMS pledge to respect property in the following ways: 1. We shall take pride in our school. 2. We shall take responsibility for caring for our school, inside and out. 3. We shall not vandalize our school. We will not: Put black marks on the floors Write on desks or walls Destroy school property, such as cupboard doors. 4. We shall understand that there are consequences for our actions. This may include: Detention Cleaning up any vandalism or mess Legal action 5. We shall respect the property of others, including their ideas. This may include: Art work Science projects Posters Locker/book bag contents 6. We will respect and appreciate our own property. 1. We shall take pride in our school. 2.
