3 Advocacy: How does the OAC work for you? The OAC works to ensure that artists and arts organizations are respected, valued and supported. Level I: PROGRAM LEVEL ♪ Issues that affect artistic activity in the community are brought to the attention of the OAC through in-person contact with artists, consultations held with our membership, and through various communication channels such as surveys and forums; ♪ The OAC moves the issue forward with the appropriate institution/stakeholder at the program level, e.g., local artists are unable to sell artwork in Town facilities;  dialogue is started with facility manager/Manager of Cultural Services.

4 Advocacy: How does the OAC work for you? The OAC works to ensure that artists and arts organizations are respected, valued and supported. Level II: SENIOR MANAGEMENT ♪ Issues that remain unresolved at Level I are moved through the escalation process to Level II where they are addressed by senior management such as CEO, CFO, Commissioner, etc. ♪ All issues will be tracked and outcomes communicated by the OAC to the member(s) and full membership where appropriate.

5 Advocacy: How does the OAC work for you? The OAC works to ensure that artists and arts organizations are respected, valued and supported. Level III: POLITICAL ♪ Issues that have not been resolved satisfactorily are brought to the attention of politicians at the appropriate level of government: town councillors, provincial MPP’s or funding bodies such as Trillium. ♪ Using our example of sales in Town facilities, this issue, left unresolved, would be brought forward to Town council to request resolution.
