4. Mussolini’s rise to power Mussolini attracted the majority of the Italian population by using nationalistic, anti liberal, and anti socialistic propaganda which served as a threat to the rest of the world.

11. Italy’s role in WWII Italy began its part in WWII on June 10 th, 1940 by helping Germany invade France. During the war, Italy fought against the allies with Germany and Japan. After the Japanese attack on Pear Harbor, Italy and Germany declared war on the US at the same time (just like WWl)

12. Mussolini’s Death There were many assassination attempts on Mussolini while he was the leader of Italy, but none were successful. Mussolini and his mistress was finally executed by a firing squad on April 28 th, 1945.

13. Impact of war on Italy Although Italy did not play a big part in terms of Combat in WWll, they made a huge contribution on the defeat of Germany. They caused Germany to delay the operation of Barbarossa which would have reinforced their allies. (invasion of Russia)
