1 The Passive Voice

2 Simple Present Somebody cleans the room every day. The room is cleaned every day. Jane cleans the room every day. The room is cleaned by Jane every day.

3 Simple Past Somebody cleaned the room yesterday. The room was cleaned yesterday. Jane cleaned the room yesterday. The room was cleaned by Jane yesterday.

4 Simple Present ( is/am/are + p.p.)
Thunder is caused by hot air hitting colder air. Biofuel is made from things that com from the Earth. It is called Three Kings Day. I am never invited to parties. Three Kings Day is also celebrated in the United States.

5 The right hand is used only in the bathroom.
Chocolate is given as a gift on holidays. Chopsticks are used to pick up food. Almost all homes are heated using geothermal energy. Students are asked to speak quietly in class.

6 Simple Past (was/were + p.p.)
The robber was trapped by the police. The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell. This house was built in 1960. The first Harry Potter film was released in 2001.

7 Chocolate beans were taken back to Europe.
They were born in Japan. Two children were taken to the hospital. My friends were bitten by a dog last week.
