1 INTERESTED IN EARNING COLLEGE CREDIT NEXT YEAR AT DHS? Dual Credit/AP English III

2 Dual Credit Enrollment Requirements 3.0 GPA Approved TSI Testing Score  Test will be given on Thursday, March 27 th at DHS and in April at TWU  $25 test fee $50 Application Fee (Applytexas.org) $150 per semester fee (Tuition and application fee waived for students on Free Lunch) $375 total for the two 3-hour credits (at DHS) compared to $2,000-$10,000 or more (at the college or university you will attend after high school) If you pass the class, you receive college credit.

3 Mandatory Dual Enrollment Meeting You will meet with the Counseling Team to discuss the Dual Credit opportunities here at DHS for Summer and Fall 2014 When: March 19 th Where: DHS Lecture Hall Times: 8:15-8:45am OR 4:15-4:45pm Attendance is required!!!

4 Advanced Placement Opportunities If you are ineligible for Dual Credit or decide not to enroll, taking AP English III can still help you receive college credit. How???  I’ll prepare you for the AP test throughout the year.  Take the AP Practice Exam Spring of 2015.  Take the AP English Language and Composition Exam in May of 2015.  Make a 3 or higher (depending on the college you are planning to attend; some require a 4 while some a 5), and you can obtain college credit.

5 Debate Opportunities Still need a speech credit? Or do you want to put your persuasive skills to good use? Take Debate next year! Come by and see me before or after school if you are interested.
