2 In order to view AUXDATA reports, you must have a pdf reader program installed on your computer. Adobe’s Acrobat Reader is the most popular program, and its free. There are many other free programs available as well. To get the latest release of Adobe Acrobat Reader, visit www.adobe.com www.adobe.com Click on the Adobe Reader download link. For security reasons, it is important to keep these programs up-to-date with the latest releases. Click to download

February 2012 As with any program you download from the internet, check the page to see if any other software is selected to download and install with your program. In this case, you might want to uncheck the box for McAfee Security Scan Plus software. Uncheck Click the “Download Now” button to start the download and installation, then follow the on screen instructions. Click “Download Now” 3

February 2012 There is a simple report that can be run to find out which members are eligible or ineligible to run for elected office. Click Reports Click on the “Reports” button to access this report. 5

Click to Access Click the “Election Eligibility” tab to access. February 20126

Click Submit 7 This report can be run for an individual or a unit. Click “Submit” To find out who is eligible to run for office, select the Unit Number. Then select the office. To get this report for Division or District officers, you must have AUXDATA access for that level, eg: SO-IS for Division Level Offices. Select Office Select Unit Number

February 20128 This report shows the members who are currently eligible to run for the selected office.

February 2012 Click Details 9 This report can be run for an individual or a unit. Then click “Details” To find out why members are NOT eligible to run for office, select the Unit Number. Then select the office. To get this report for Division or District officers, you must have AUXDATA access for that level, eg: SO-IS for Division Level Offices. Select Office Select Unit Number

February 201210 This report shows the members who are currently NOT eligible to run for the selected office, and the first reason found for ineligibility. This report lists the first reason AUXDATA finds for a member to be ineligible. There may be more reasons, so if a member completes the task required by this listing, re-run the report to ensure there are not additional requirements that need to be met.

VERY IMPORTANT!! If you are experiencing problems with the reports loading properly, pop-up blockers must either be turned off or set to allow pop-ups from the AUXDATA site. The most common problem encountered is the Google Toolbar. In addition to the Internet Explorer pop-up blocker being turned off, the Google Toolbar pop-up blocker must be disabled or set to allow pop-ups from the AUXDATA website. February 201211

The reports will load in a browser window. If you do not see the report, check the window for your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari), by clicking on the appropriate tab to bring the browser window to the front. If the report still is not showing, follow the instructions in the following slides regarding pop-up blockers. February 201212

To turn off Pop-up blockers in Internet Explorer: Click “Tools” Click “Turn Off” Click on the “Tools” Pull down menu February 201213 Click “Turn Off Pop-up Blocker” Hover your mouse over “Pop-up Blocker”

Click “Always Allow” The Pop-Up Blocker on the Google Toolbar is one of the most common problems for reports in AUXDATA. Click the down facing arrow When the Google Tool Bar blocks a page, you will see the “no” symbol, click the down facing arrow to the right of this symbol In the window, select “Always allow pop-ups from auxdata.uscg.gov February 201214

February 2012 When blocking a pop-up, Firefox displays an information bar at the top of the window. When you click on the “Options” button on the information bar, a menu is displayed with the following choices: Allow/Block pop-ups for this site Selecting “Allow pop-ups for this site”, will configure Firefox to allow the reports to load. Click “Options” 15 Allow/Block pop-ups for this site Edit Pop-up Blocker Options Don’t show this message when pop-ups are blocked (show the blocked pop-up)
