1 Insert project map NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING Florida Department of Transportation Project History The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 5, conducted a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study in 2007 to consider improvements to US Highway 41 (State Road (SR) 45) from 111 th Place Lane to approximately SW 61 st Street in Marion County. The purpose of the PD&E Study was to examine the widening and rehabilitation of US Highway 41 (SR 45) from two lanes to four lanes. Three public meetings were held, including a formal public hearing on December 14, 2009. Invitation to Public Information Meeting The FDOT invites you to attend a public information meeting addressing this project. The meeting is scheduled Thursday, February 9, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 7525 S. US Highway 41, Dunnellon, Florida. It begins with an open house at 5:00 p.m. and includes a brief presentation at 6:00 p.m. The meeting ends at 7:00 p.m. The presentation video is also available online at the project specific website, www.us41marion.com, or www.cflroads.com (click on Future Projects, then Marion, and finally on 238648-1 SR 45). Your input is very important during this process. We encourage you to attend and learn more about the project. PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING DATE: Thursday, February 9, 2012 TIME: 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Presentation at 6:00 pm PLACE: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 7525 S. US Highway 41 Dunnellon, Florida 34432 The PD&E Study was completed in June 2011. The project is currently in the final design phase, where detailed design plans are being prepared. The development of right-of-way maps begins shortly in preparation for the right-of-way acquisition phase, currently scheduled for 2018. The project entails the reconstruction of the existing roadway from two to four lanes and includes grassed medians, paved shoulders, sidewalks, driveway reconstruction, and full and directional median openings. The project extends from 111 th Place Lane to approximately SW 61 st Street. The project is not currently funded for construction.
