2 How many legs do most mammals have?
Birds have two legs. Their legs can be long or short, but they will always have two legs.

3 Their “toes” or talons will look different depending on where the birds live and how they use their feet.

4 Like mammals, birds are warm-blooded and breathe oxygen with lungs
Like mammals, birds are warm-blooded and breathe oxygen with lungs. Like fish, amphibians, and reptiles, bird babies hatch from eggs.

5 Let’s look at the coverings of animal bodies.
What do mammals have on their bodies? What covers the body of a fish? What will you find on the skin of a reptile? And what covers the body of a bird?

6 Feathers come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors
Feathers come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors. They help the bird fly, keep it warm, keep it dry, and can help it attract a mate.

7 Not all birds can fly, but all birds have two wings.

8 Birds are the only vertebrates with a beak.

9 Their beaks are different sizes and shapes depending on what they eat and how they get their food.

10 There are more different sizes, shapes, and colors of birds than you can imagine! They are a wonderful example of God’s Principle of Individuality. Take a look at a few!
