2 Problem Solving Sometimes the choices a character makes can make the problem worse so they have to make other choices or get help from other characters. Solving problems often requires the characters to make tough choices. Most every fictional story has a problem that needs to be solved by one or more of the characters.

3 The Bear Comprehension Skill: Problem Solving What is the problem in the story? How does the family try to solve the problem? Do you think the family made a good choice?

Make sure to write in complete sentences. 2.While you are reading begin thinking about other possible choices the character might have had and how they would have affected the solution. 3.When you finish, use the information you have charted to create a Multi- Flow Map on a clean sheet of paper. 4.When finished go back and reread this week’s selection in order to improve reading fluency.
