4. Turning the Power On The main power switch can be found on the top of the SMART Cart. It is located on the lower left hand of the laptop connection area. Toggle the switch to the 1 or ON position to turn on power to the cart.

6. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Opening the cabinet The computer, VCR/DVD are housed inside the SMART Cart. To open the SMART Cart cabinet and access them, firmly press the round center button on the SMART Cart latch and then lift the latch and pull the cabinet door open.

7. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Power On The Projector To power on the projector you will need the SMART Cart remote. The remote is usually attached to the cart near the laptop connection area. If the remote is not attached to the cart you should look inside the SMART Cart cabinet.

8. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern The projector is located in the SMART Cart next to the laptop connections. To power on the projector point the remote at the projector and press the power (green) button on the remote.

9. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern It will take a minute for the light on the projector to come on. (If the projector does not come on, try turning the remote towards the mirror and pressing the power button on the remote.

10. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern How to focus the projector There are two ways that the projector can be focused. The first way is to adjust the ring around the projector lens. This will adjust the actual clarity of the screen image.

11. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern The second way that you can focus the projector is with the AUTO ADJUST button on the remote. If you have areas of the computer screen that do not show or are cut off from the projection image, click the auto adjust button on the remote and it will bring them into the screen.

12. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Connecting a Laptop On the top of the SMART Cart you will see several connections. You will use these two to connect to the laptop. One has an icon of the SMART Board and the other has an icon of the projector. One will connect the laptop to the SMART Board and the other will connect the laptop to the projector.

13. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern You can then use the switch located at the upper left of the connections to toggle between the laptop screen and the onboard computer screen.

14. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Adjusting the Image on the Smart Board To align the projected image on the SMART Board move the mirror panel up and down as you look at the board. This way you can center the projected image on the board.

15. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Troubleshooting What do you do if there is no image on the SMART Board? To check your connections go to the computer monitor and click on the SMART Board icon on the taskbar.

16. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Troubleshooting If the icon does not appear on the taskbar then it will be on the desktop. Click on the icon to bring up the SMART Board menu. Click on the control panel selection.

17. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Troubleshooting The control panel dialog box will appear. Next click the CONNECT button. A SELECT COM PORT dialog box will appear.

18. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Troubleshooting Click on the DETECT SMART HARDWARE button. It will then find the correct serial connection for the board automatically for you.

19. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Orienting the SMART Board to your touch Click the SMART Board icon which can be found on the taskbar (or on the desktop) to bring up the SMART Board menu. Select the ORIENT option.

20. Smart Cart Multimedia Lectern Orienting the Smart Board The Pick the Orientation dialog box will appear. Choose the Quick 9 Point option (it is the default) and then click the NEXT button at the lower left of the dialog box.
