You only have one and CANNOT survive without it. Only organ that can regenerate and repair itself, though not if consistently damaged by alcohol, fatty deposits or a virus The liver has no nerve endings so you cannot feel damage occurring. Early symptoms – fatigue, poor appetite, weight loss, general “unwell feeling” are often missed and can be associated with other conditions. We also have the option of providing ultrasound liver scans, working with local liver nurses and consultants to deliver one to one consultations if needed. www.britishlivertrust.org.uk Fibroscan Probe is non-invasive, completely external and painless; it simply generates a mechanical pulse at skin surface which is tracked as it passes through the liver.
