3 The Conquest of Canaan  Joshua, the son of Nun, replaced Moses as leader of the Israelites  Parting of the Jordan River  Conquest of the promised land started with Jericho

19 Samson  Parents were told he would defeat the Philistines before he was born because of his super strength  Lived as a Nazarite  Never had a hair cut in his life  Often compared to Greek mythological hero Hercules

20 Samson and Delilah  Samson’s downfall was a woman named Delilah  Found out the secret of his strength and cut his hair  Turned him over to the Philistines

21 Death of Samson  Philistines poked out his eyes but let his hair grow back  Killed thousands of Philistines along with himself when he died
