3 There are 2 categories of officials – these are: Performance controllers:  Regulate the sport on or close to the action, e.g. rugby, football or basketball. Performance managers:  Measure the competitors against standards, e.g. Gymnasts, long jumpers or snooker players. What’s the difference?
