8. How does abstaining from sex follow the law? You can be prosecuted for having sex with a minor. If you have sex with someone under the legal age of consent you have committed statutory rape. What is the legal age of consent in Ohio? –16

9. What does abstinence have to do with your reputation? Practicing abstinence will maintain your good reputation What happens the opposite way?

10. What do your parents want for you? Your parents and guardians want you to live a quality life, they know the consequences of being sexually active Abstinence follows parental rules Abstinence shows responsible values, family values, dignity, respect, sexual fidelity (faithfulness) and good character

11. Who has sex? Statistics show that some teenagers are sexually active however, don’t use this information to justify a decision to have sex. No matter what the statistics say there are many teens that are not having sex, who understand the benefits of waiting. Students that are abstinent are not alone! 13. Visualization Close your eyes. Imagine we have just moved into the future. You are no longer a high school student. You are now in your late forties/ early fifties. You have two high school children, a boy and a girl. What are your expectations? What should your children do when pressured to have sex? What about their relationships? Are they allowed to date? How would you feel if they came home pregnant or with an STD?
