5 5 1. The cable from the RS-232 should be a null modem. 2. Ground should be a 12 AWG or larger and connected to a good known source. 3. Electrical power outlet should be 120VAC with a ground 4. Incoming Central Office lines should be protected by using any well know lightning protector: Edco, Porta Systems,MP1 by ITTW Link, Panamax, etc.
