PROTEINS Group members: Joyce Jack Jack Jim Jim Gilbert Gilbert Fiona Fiona Stardust Stardust One of the six basic nutrients for our body:

What do proteins do Proteins are the basic substance in our body and play a very important role in our life activities. Proteins form the main component of cell and tissue structures. For example, muscles, skeletons and organs are mainly composed of proteins. Enzymes, antibodies and many hormones are all proteins..

How they are important Firstly, Proteins can provide us with energy. During digestive process, proteins are divided into amino acids. After the amino acids are absorbed to the small intestine, they enter the bloodstream and are sent to the liver. The liver can decompose the amino acids into fats or glucose, and they can be used for energy. In fact, the amino acids are not the most primary energy sources. They are used for energy only if other energy sources are run out. Moreover, most amino acids are absorbed by cells and used for synthesizing proteins

In addition, some of proteins are used for rebuilding and repairing the cells. Proteins also participate in the substance metabolism and regulation of Physiological functions.

How does protein keep us healthy How does protein keep us healthy The protein in food can support all of these the body's growth and maintenance of the update process. If we lack protein our red blood cell and skin cell will never grow. We will change into ……

A white blood cells, lymphocytes, and macrophages, antibody,Updated once a seven days. When proteins are plentiful, these will be stronger, we could avoid disease readily. If we could not get enough protein, we will be like get AIDS!

If enzyme enough, reaction will be easy, fast, and we will be energetic, otherwise, the response is slow down or blocked. We will get protein, we could get energy indirectly.

We can conclude that the protein is important for us to keep healthy !

How much should we consume each day According to some medical research, the standard mass of protein an adult should consume is 1.16g/kg/day. For example, if an adult has a mass 60kg, itll provide him 69.6g protein /day. Considering our live demonstrations, we can get the protein we need by eating 400g rice or wheat, 100g fish or meat, 50g eggs, 50g beans, and 100g milk.

Mainly Sources of protein MEAT EGGS MILK /CHEESE /YOUGERT BEANS DRY FRUITS

Questions How proteins provide us with energy? What will happened if we lack proteins? Which food we eat commonly can provide proteins?

THANK YOU!!!!
