2 HOW DID IT START? The Iraq War was a conflict that began in 2003 with the invasion of Iraq by a United States-led army that took over the government of Saddam Hussein. The conflict continued for the next ten years. We invated Iraq because we thought they had weapons of mass destruction.

14 WHO FOUGHT The Allies included Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States. These countries fought against the Central Powers which included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria.

Nearly 5 million people died. More than half of these–about 10 percent of Korea's prewar population–were civilians. (This rate of civilian casualties was higher than World War II's and Vietnam's.) Almost 40,000 Americans died in action in Korea, and more than 100,000 were wounded.
