AQA GCSE Art, Craft and Design Externally Set Assignment Counts towards 40% of your final mark for your GCSE AO1 (Develop) - Find relevant artists to look at Use this work to inspire mini pieces of work Make personal comments about this work Visit museums, galleries, cities, spaces etc to inspire your work Starting Points Human figure Telling stories In the news Materials Light and dark In a different way Connections AO2 (Experiment) - Explore different media in your sketchbook Use different techniques and processes Evaluate how successful your experiments have been AO3 (Record) Collect and present only relevant imagery Produce high quality drawings/sketches/ paintings etc Take your own photos Annotate your work After the prep time you will have 10 hours over 2 days at the end of the Spring Term AO4 (Present) Produce confident and high quality final piece/s Ensure your work links to your prep work

2 Important Information
Starting Tasks…. INTRODUCTION PAGE In your sketchbook produce a introduction page based on your chosen theme. Use your imagination with this page! Just make sure it includes the starting point title somewhere on the page. MIND MAP Using a mind map note down all the related words that come to mind when you think of your theme/ question.Your mind map should be pleasing to the eye and contain a wide variety of ideas. ARTIST INVESTIGATION Produce an artist page on an artist that links to your chosen theme. You may select an artist from the hand-out given to you OR find one yourself. Ensure your page includes the following: - The artist’s name - Images of the artists work - An analysis of the artists work (using the prompt sheet as a guide) - A copy/ study of a piece of the artists work OR your own interpretation OR both! Important Information · You will be aiming to show that you have meet all of the assessment objectives in your preparation work and work created in the 10 hours. · The controlled conditions will be spread over two days and total 10 hours. · The work you produce in your prep time and in the 10 hours will count towards 40% of your final marks.
