2 Job Candidate Applying means that you present yourself as a JOB CANDIDATE- possible employee- for the position A successful job application leads to an invitation for a job interview.

3 Applying in Person Applying usually starts with sending in your resume and cover letter. A resume is a document that provides a snapshot image of your qualification. A cover letter introduces yourself to a potential employer. Applying in person at a small company means speaking directly with the owner or manager. Applying in persona at a large company might mean going to a human resources department. Emplyees in the human resources department often meet job applicants first to decide if they are qualified for the position.

4 Tips for Applying Use a professional address. Use your name so potential employers won’t mistake your information for someone else’s information. Be politie and professional to everyone. The receptionist and other works may report back to the owner or manager. Customize your resume for the job you are applying for.

5 Job Applications Job applications are a standard form you will fill out when you apply for a job. You might fill out an application in person, online or take the application and return it completed. Remember to: read the entire form before fill it out, follow all instructions, be truthful and accurate, write neatly, enter N/A for not applicable if the question does not apply to you, check your spelling and grammar, if you make a mistake ask for a new form.

6 Personal Information Card (Pocket Application)
A personal information card is a paper on which you write the information you might need to fill out a job application accurately, especially when completing an application at the place of employment. Information you will need to include: names, addresses and contact information of current and previous employers name, and addresses of schools you attended names and addresses of references (remember, you can not list relatives)
