3 How can we help? We work with writers during ALL stages of the writing process in ALL disciplines at ALL levels to help you with your project from start to finish. We believe in providing you with tools to gain confidence in your writing rather than “fixing” your writing. We focus on collaborating with writers to provide a peer-audience throughout the writing process.

4 What kind of sessions are available?
All sessions are 25 or 45 minutes Face-to-Face Individual Group (for group projects) Online Work in real time with a consultant just as you would face-to- face using our scheduler, WC Online Use audio/visual features to discuss your writing during the session (chatbox available for students without A/V capabilities)

6 What are some tips for success?
Come early! Come often! (Up to one appointment per day) Be detailed when making your appointment.  The more we know about your project, the better prepared we are to help! Have access to your assignment sheet and any writing you have done. For face-to-face appointments, you can print your paper in the UWC, use one of our computers, or use your own personal device. If you are meeting online, you can upload your assignment sheet and writing to the whiteboard space in WC Online. Have an open mind! We will try a variety of strategies to help you reach your writing goals. Likewise, feel free to share with us how you best learn. We want to make sessions useful for you!

7 What are UWC Sessions like?
Check in! For face-to-face sessions, check in at the front desk and find a comfortable spot. For online sessions, log on to WC Online and click “Start or Join Online Consultation” on your appointment. Next, you will meet the writing consultant and discuss your project. Together, you will set goals for the session. What do you want to accomplish? Participate in the session. This could be brainstorming together, working on citations, reading your paper to develop content or organization— whatever you need to meet your goals. Review your session with the consultant and create a plan of what to do next. If you are on site, feel free to stay in the UWC to work independently.
