With it, a woman has more power than any man; without it she has nothing.”  Students should brainstorm a bulleted list of instances in which this statement could be true and when this statement could be false. Students should then write a response in which they CONFIRM (agree with), DENY (disagree with), or QUALIFY (agree with certain limitations) this statement.
