We have had an amazing start to school! I am very proud of our class and I know it is going to be a great year. Our class website is currently a work in progress and I will let you know when it is up and running. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please do not hesitate.
Week of August 19th

Reading:
The students will identify story elements in fiction books. We will continue reading our classroom chapter book, Baseball Fever. We will also focus on inferring and problem/solution.
Writing:
The students will be reviewing the guidelines for Writer’s Workshop. We will work through the writing process as a class and learn about the components of good “How To” paragraphs.
Math:
The students will continue to work on Topic 8 dealing with concepts related to multiplication. We will be multiplying numbers with 2 and 3 digits and will focus on multiplication word problems.
Science/Social Studies:
The students will study the steps that make up the Scientific Method in preparation for our first experiment of the school year!
Reminders:
Please send missing school supplies to school ASAP.
Please look over and sign Daily Planners every night.
Don’t forget to send a nutritious snack to school everyday.
Please practice basic math facts. We will be taking weekly quizzes throughout the first quarter.
Spelling lists will go home every Monday and we have tests on Fridays.
Homework packets and Weekly Math are both due Fridays.
