A private, not-for-profit University founded by the Uganda Episcopal Conference; A State-Chartered University since 2005 Mainstreamed Ethics in all academic programmes Host to UN Regional Centre of Expertise for ESD East African pioneer to teach Organic Farming and Agro-ecology Never had a sit down strike in any of the campuses Ugandan pioneer Univ. to develop an HIV/AIDS policy, and Sexual harassment policy All Postgraduate candidates undergo a GAT test

Participated in the formulation of the national policy on organic agriculture Carried out skills gap analysis (needs assessment) in Uganda Launched the Journal of Agro-ecology (Agro-Ecology Conference) Curricula development and Review External income generation (USD 611,195 vs target of 150,000) 10 publications in International Journals/books Provision of short course training to management, staff, students, community Organic farming (community) Risk management (Management and Heads of Department) Finance management (Management and Heads of Department) Soft skills (Faculty and Registry Administrators) Data management for research (Staff and Students) Created a Project website Surpassing enrollment targets for Msc programmes (425) with 1/3 being females Improving teaching and research environment at the University Farm Launched an Organic Agric Cartoon Book Book-February-2018.pdf Developed short course curricula for Skilling peasant farmers Developed partnerships with Private Sector (3), Civil Society (2), and Universities (2)

7 issues of concern Unsatisfactory Cash flow leading to postponement of procurements Unsatisfactory External verification methodology Non verification of PhD students and regional ones Consider some students ineligible yet they do actually exist (not ghosts) Non disbursement of earned USD 408,000 for local students Not using the Project website for additional information Numbers of Regional Students for Msc (Postgraduate hostel) Failure to get a competent body to regionally accredit Agroecology Progms. Several DLRs have not been verified (2.1 Timely implementation, 2.7 Revenue generation, 2.8 PASET-Benchmarking, 3.1 W/A, 3.2 & 3.3 Functioning Audit Committee, Transparency of F/Management, Procurement) Challenges for planning for forthcoming year
