2 The project Long standing challenges
Journey reliability and quality, particularly on the A14 Economic and housing growth and productivity constrained by current infrastructure Ambitions for significant future growth Work to date 2016 – Public Sector Leaders Group provided £200k funding for an initial study into the road network. May 2018 – Public Sector Leaders Group provided £550k funding to develop a Strategic Outline Business Case November 2018 – Scope of work updated to include for future high growth, 10,000 to 15,000 new homes to reflect emerging ambitions of local districts February 2019 – Matthew Hicks confirmed public consultation on the project in the summer

3 Purpose of work Develop a Strategic Outline Business Case with an initial focus on road infrastructure Consultation responses to be part of this business case If decide to progress the project, share the SOBC with government to seek funding to take the project forward to an Outline Business Case Next stage of the project to combine infrastructure and growth This approach maximises opportunities for funding

10 Consultation We are consulting the local community in order to further understand the needs, benefits, impacts and issues a project of this scale could bring. Consultation will run for 10 weeks – events in Mid Suffolk, East Suffolk & Ipswich Consultation Questionnaire to provide public the opportunity to express views on: The objectives of the project The alternative routes and junctions How a new route might change their journeys, in and around Ipswich Environmental issues Their current experience of travelling in the wider Ipswich area
