3 Expectations

4 Come to class prepared with all needed
school supplies. All work turned in must be in the correct format: neat/legible, and on time for maximum credit. Please adhere to the format given by relevant teachers. Online school store: almost all purchases will be made via this medium (except school lunch). Sixth grade students MUST have an agenda, a spirit shirt, and PE uniforms. Field trips: no exceptions will made with regard to dress code or due dates.

5 NSLP mandate: NO student food or drink may be brought into the building with restaurant packaging. These include but are not limited to Starbucks, Subway, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonalds, etc. Early Pickup may NOT occur within a half hour of dismissal. Please be reminded that teachers are required to respond within 24 hours of receiving your please do not assume we have read your s when they are sent. If the request is urgent, please call the school.

6 Absences from individual classes as well as school on a whole dramatically affect your child’s progress. Parents, please, please, please, STAY up to date with relevant websites: grades (engradepro.com), homework, announcements, etc. Social Media: please enforce that your child avoids social media at ALL costs. The completion of volunteer hours is still required. They are as important in middle school as well as elementary school

7 If a student is absent, it is the STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY to get missed assignments
from the class website, the teacher, or a friend. Accountability/responsibility: what does this look like in 6th grade? Orientation packets are due Friday, August 16, Exception: Authorization of medication and treatment forms. Please keep all forms together and return in the folder provided.

8 There are no conferences without the ENTIRE TEAM of teachers present.
Do not put anything in writing that you would not want reviewed by the appropriate personnel and other officials. This includes but is not limited to social media. Remember “nice gets nice.”

9 Grades

10 All grades will be posted and updated online in a timely manner, so that parents and students can track grades. All students will receive their own, private access code. Once you have access to an account, grades can be checked at anytime!! You will be advised what the grading portal is as soon as we are made aware. Please be active in your student’s progress by checking their grades. Grades are updated at least once a week.

11 BROWARD COUNTY cell phone policy
Cell phones MUST be turned off and put in student’s backpacks when they ENTER the building. If students are caught with their cell phones out of their bags or if their cell phones goes off in class, it is an automatic referral and parents must pick up the phone from the office.

13 First time: Verbal warning Second time: Detention
Third time: Double Detention Fourth time: Referral Consequences are aligned with the SECONDARY school matrix. FYI: Infractions are cumulative.
