Useful vocabulary Expedition – an organised journey that is made for a particular purpose such as exploration Uncharted - something that is not authorized or unregulated Intrepid – an intrepid person acts in a brave way Dauntless – a person who is brave and confident and not easily frightened Pioneer – someone who pioneers a new activity is one of the first people to do it. Crevice – a narrow crack or gap, especially in a rock Descend – to move downwards from a higher to a lower level Linguistic features Proper nouns Facts and statistics Strong active verbs Rhetorical question Semantic field of adventure Metaphor Reminder for technical accuracy Remember to paragraph your work. Use full stops and capital letters throughout. Demarcate sentences with full stops, exclamation marks or question marks. Proof-read your work.
