2 Be Safe Positive Respectful Responsible
Remain in the seat assigned by your regular classroom teacher. Maintain a positive attitude with the guest teacher/speaker. Be polite when you have a question or a request. Follow rules established by your regular classroom teacher. Remember to practice KHFAAOOTY and maintain voice level 1. Address the guest teacher using his or her name. Comply with request made by guest teachers using the SMART steps. Ask for permission to leave the room only for emergencies. Use Wildcat Ways to be successful, remember the BEST steps. Be willing to help the guest teacher/speaker with normal classroom routines. Deal with problems or issues when your regular classroom teacher returns. Complete all work or tasks you are assigned.

4 Be Respectful Listen to all directions given by the Guest Teacher
Comply with all reasonable requests made by the guest teacher. Always Be SMART when given a reasonable request This is a gum free zone!

5 Be Respectful Be polite when making a request or if you have a question. Deal with concerns when your regular classroom teacher returns.

6 Be Positive Always Maintain a positive attitude toward the guest teacher. Address the teacher by name Mr.___ or Mrs.____ Be willing to help if needed Use positive words only Teacher! Will this paddle work?

7 Be Responsible Follow established classroom rules and procedures
Ask to leave the classroom only for extreme emergencies

9 Greeting the Guest Teacher
Role-Play Positive Example – How to Greet the Guest Teacher Teacher: Pretend to be the Guest Teacher. Say, “Good morning, class. My name is Ms./Mr. Guest Teacher.” Class: Say, “Good morning, Ms./Mr. Guest Teacher.” Student: Raise his/her hand, “My name is __________ and I have been assigned by my teacher to be your helper today. If you have any questions, or need any assistance, please let me know.”

10 Check for Understanding
Review with the class why it is important to greet the Guest Teacher. Talk about comments and concerns students voiced during the role-play. Remind students the Guest Teacher will leave a class behavior report. If the class earns a positive report, everyone will receive: If the class earns a negative report, everyone will receive: Assign a student to be the helper for the guest teacher in each block.

11 Be Successful Remember the guest teacher has the same role as any regular classroom teacher. They are there to ensure your success A guest teacher will follow the BEST steps Guest teachers leave reports (positive or negative) about your behavior. It’s up to you make good choices!!!!!
