12 How to Embrace Career Happenstance
Be open to new experiences. Try things outside of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself frequently. You may not know now what exactly you want to do, but moving forward and exploring new interests can help you find out your career purpose, passion and interests. Consider seeking out butterflies, rather than waiting for them to come to you. Planned happenstance can help you explore new interests and careers in a more flexible way so you can further define your goals and purpose.

13 Make a Plan, Take Action To avoid this moment:
Talk to career professionals in your interest areas. Job shadow or volunteer. Join clubs, campus activities. Consult with your professors. Meet with your academic advisors, discuss option of taking introductory classes. Attend Career Services events in order to speak with employers about their career opportunities. Talk to a Career Counselor! Schedule an appointment to discuss your options, questions, and interests. Engage in these activities

14 Undeclared Policy All students at the University of Central Florida are expected to officially declare a major prior to earning 45 college credit hours (this includes credits earned from CLEP, Dual Enrollment, AP, and IB). An administrative hold to prevent future university registration will be placed on the records of all students that have not declared a major. Students must meet with an academic advisor (within Student Development and Enrollment Services, the Colleges, or Regional Campuses) to have the hold released. 9/20/ :08 AM

15 Excess Hours In response to the Florida Legislature’s decision on excess hours academic advisors will assist students in selecting classes Start exploring early Choose electives wisely, still explore If considering a double major understand you will be charged for both majors up front and then reimbursed once both majors are complete Concerns: 9/20/ :08 AM
