Our experience tells us that a successful cloud initiative is comprised of steps that produce these key outcomes during the journey. 1 Envision 2 Evaluate 3 Outline 4 Design Identify cloud opportunities Cloud service delivery strategy Cloud design Gap analysis Business case Determine the opportunities cloud offers your business based on your industry Incorporate cloud and a service delivery approach Into your IT portfolio decision process Define the conceptual and operational design of your cloud solution Analyze where you are and where you need to be in areas critical for cloud success Define the total cost of ownership, return on investment , business value or full business case of your cloud Cloud direction and scope Architectural decisions Management framework Prioritized workloads Governance and organizational impact After thousands of engagements with clients and cloud, we have seen that a successful cloud initiative is comprised of several steps that produce these key outcomes. At IBM Cloud Advisory Services, we take a collaborative approach. We weave together business insight, advanced research and technology to help give you a distinct advantage in today’s rapidly changing environment. Our integrated perspective on cloud consulting, design and implementation can turn strategies into action. Whether it is envisioning the opportunities cloud can offer your business, analyzing your gaps and infrastructure readiness, building your cloud implementation roadmap, or prioritizing what workloads you put on the cloud and how they will perform – we can help. We can also help you determine how to adjust to new services in your organization, how to make strategic systematic decisions on those services, define you architectural requirements and decisions, understand how cloud impacts your organization and governance, build your business case, design your conceptual and operational cloud and define the management framework or operating model. Composable business is the new way forward – As is composable services offered by IBM. This will enable you to have a more personalized experience geared to your needs and your point on your cloud journey and make better decisions moving forward. To accomplish this, we use a composable model. We can help you at any step in your cloud journey. This “building block” approach allows you to build the solution you need. 2 Envision the business opportunities enabled by cloud technology.
2 Evaluate 3 Outline 4 Design 1 Envision Envision the business opportunities enabled by cloud technology. What we offer Identify new business and IT transformation opportunities made possible by cloud technologies Consider your cloud opportunities in the context of your industry trends and competitive landscape Initiate a new level of collaboration between business and technology leaders What you get Identified cloud opportunities, aligned with business goals Discussion of cloud usage trends in your industry A new channel for business and IT collaboration Envisioning success in the cloud It’s important to understand the reason that you are pursuing cloud. What are the business imperatives that are driving the investigation of cloud capabilities? What business opportunities exist that you can take advantage of by implementing a cloud based solution? Using industry data and your direction, we work with you to identify what your company can do with cloud (envision the opportunities), and we can continue to work with you to prioritize and build a detailed plan based on these opportunities. Here we bring the business and technology leaders together and on the same page. Internal note: This box can be delivered jointly with GBS, and behind is the Cloud Envisioning Workshop and Cloud Transformation Services engagement model. Accessibility text: There are six images on this slide. The first image is a green circle with 4 perpendicular lines extending from it. The first line is labeled Business Model. The second line is labeled Application Development and Delivery. The third line is labeled Data and Analytics. The last line is labeled Infrastructure Platforms. The second image is a pyramid titled “Are you doing enough with cloud?” The top section of the pyramid is labeled Mission for the cloud enabled transformation. The middle section is labeled Strategy. The bottom section is labeled Critical Success Factors. The third image is a cross section of a round disk. The inner semi-circle is labeled Optimize and Why here? The middle semi-circle is labeled Innovate and the outer circle is labeled Disruptor. The fourth image is the same as the third without the text. It has an arrow pointing from the green circle with 4 perpendicular lines to another duplicate image in the Innovator semi-circle. It is depicting the question “How do we transform and sustain?” The fifth image is titled What competitions are doing with cloud. IT shows circles with 4 perpendicular lines extending from them, one in each semi-circle. The last image is text. It is titled Cloud transformation roadmap. The section titles are Mission, Strategy and Critical Success Factors. WUP12604-USEN-00 2
