Students can share their documents as well. You need to make the student a Moderator in order for them to be able to share documents and speak. The Chat section is always available for the student and Tutor to use. Student Side of onsync

13 OnSync is a wonderful resource through Brainfuse
OnSync is a wonderful resource through Brainfuse. There can be some glitches, though. In RasTrack you can log if you have any of these glitches in order to help them get fixed. The main thing we need to do to make sure there are no glitches are to make sure that our Java and the tutee’s Java are up to date. Benefits: * Session is recorded for review * Can meet with the student as if we are in Webex * We can explain our answers to the tutees a little easier and faster * Some tutees just need to hear the answers explained to them * You have all of the same benefits as to using the white board * You can walk student through how to find resources using screen share Onsync

14 Onsync continued Issues That Happen: * No audio * No visual
* Tutees Java is not updated or they do not have Java * Plugin needed for screen share option * May not be capable with all internet browser * Student cannot share their screen or use whiteboard Onsync continued

15 Onsync continued How To Overcome These Issues:
* If there is no visual, you can still continue on with the session using the audio and white board. The tutee just will not be able to see you and you will not be able to see them. * If there is no audio, you can go back to the white board and use the white board alone or you can ask the tutee if they want to do a phone session while using the white board. * If their Java is not updated, you can walk them through on how to update their Java. Also, when you send your confirmation , you can ask them if they would like to use the OnSync option, if they say yes you can give them the directions to update their Java before the session. (It may make the connection process a little smoother and easier on the tutee.) * Be sure to turn off web cams if bandwidth is low, bandwidth status is located in the top right hand corner * Make sure the student is Moderator so they can share their screen, use the whiteboard. You can take the screen back when you are ready to resume the session Onsync continued
