PARKING AT ECU Self-supporting, not funded by tuition or student fees
We use a zone system for faculty/staff and student parking – A, B, C, and D Parking on campus is limited and by permit only (including visitor parking and including weekends) Each lot has a sign at the entrance stating the lot restrictions and on the back of each permit you will find a list of areas a permit can park Meter and garage hourly parking are available for $1 per hour Bicycle and pedestrian friendly ECU Transit and Alternative Transportation Programs(Saferide, RDU Shuttle, NextBus, ECU Police Safety Escorts) Website: parking.ecu.edu

COMMUTER PERMITS Go on sale July 1st – Information about student commuter parking can be found on our website or through our office. STUDENT PERMITS - RESIDENTS All student permits are valid from August 1st through July 31st each year and must be renewed annually Permit must be displayed properly on the windshield Permit sale dates online and in our office Returning Residents Monday July 1st at 8am New and Transfer Students July 15th at 8am Permits are sold on first come, first serve basis based on availability and residence hall assignment On campus parking is limited and most first year students will receive D lot permits RESIDENT PERMIT TYPES College Hill Residents – A2 ($420) Central Campus/West End Residents - B2 ($210) Off campus resident parking - D ($308) If A2 and B2 are sold out, you can add your name to the waitlist through PiratePort Website: parking.ecu.edu

HOW TO PURCHASE YOUR PERMITIENTATION
Visit ECU PiratePort: You will need your Pirate ID and passphrase Click the Parking & Transportation application or type Parking & Transportation in the search box Click the Manage Account button to update or verify your information Please include a valid telephone number You will need your license plate number, vehicle year, make, model and color If everything is up to date, click Parking Portal on the top left hand side. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Get Permits and follow the directions We ONLY accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover online and in our office. If you wish to pay by cash or check - visit the Parking & Transportation Office during cashier hours Website: parking.ecu.edu

MOVE IN INFORMATION Campus traffic flow and parking lots will be altered to accommodate the unloading of vehicles at the residence halls during move-in weekend Please enter Minges via Charles Blvd to check-in Receive keys and annual parking permit inside the Minges Coliseum main Entrance Pick up your “Move-In Permit” at the large tent by Minges Coliseum You will queue in the line for your hall at the top of the Minges lot AFTER UNLOADING/BEFORE UNPACKING College Hill Residents/Families – move vehicles to Elmhurst Elementary School’s Practice Field off 14th Street – across from Stadium Core Campus Residents/Families – move vehicles to Reade Street Lots CENTRALIZED KEY PICK-UP AT MINGES COLISEUM August 14th – 17th : 9am – 5pm Resident Permits can be picked up during Centralized Key Pick up during move in week Website: parking.ecu.edu

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Please remember to park in your zone Do not block traffic or park in Reserved spaces If you need to get closer to campus, you can use the metered lots or garage hourly parking If you need to load/unload your vehicle you can get an hour loading pass from your Neighborhood Service Office located in Gateway East and West End Dining Hall Please avoid tickets by following the parking rules found on our website We enforce our parking rules to make sure we utilize the limited parking spaces we have to insure those with parking permits are able to find parking in their areas Please call or our office if you have questions Website: parking.ecu.edu
