14 How a typical Toastmasters meeting looks like?

16 Club Hierarchy Responsible for providing the supportive club environment members need to fulfill their self-development goals, making sure that members benefit from the Toastmasters program President Responsible for maintaining club/District property, arranging the meeting room and welcoming members and guests at each meeting, procuring food/refreshments. SAA (Sergeant at Arms) Keeps accurate records of club, including membership records, and corresponds with Toastmasters International’s World Headquarters and others on behalf of the club. Secretary Coordinating an active public relations and publicity program that promotes the flow of guests and publicizes club and member achievements. VPPR (Vice President Public Relations) In charge of a club’s educational program scheduling speakers and other meeting roles, promoting the Toastmasters and reporting on members’ educational award progress. VPE (Vice President Education) Responsible for building membership and ensuring a strong membership base by satisfying the needs of all members VPM (Vice President Membership)

17 Meeting roles Sargent At Arms ensures meeting room decorum and sets the ground rules for the meeting SAA President of the club offically opens the meeting with a gavel President Master of Ceremony is a meeting's director and host MoC The General Evaluator evaluates everything that takes place during the club meeting GE A Timer is responsible for monitoring the time of meeting segments and speakers Timer The purpose of the Ah-Counter is to note any overused words or filler sounds Ah-Counter The Grammarian helps club members improve their grammar and vocabulary. Grammarian Prepared speaker delivers a prepared speech for 5-7 minutes Speaker Evaluator provides verbal and written feedback to individual speakers of prepared speech section Evaluator Table Topics master leads the Table Topics portion focused on developing impromptu speaking skills TTM Table Topics speaker (open for guest) speakes for 2-3 minutes Table Topics Speaker

Speeches Prepared section Table topics Impromptu Section Evaluation Feedback Section 5-7 minutes Speakers follow the specific objectives/guidelines from educational manuals called PATHWAYS 1-2 minutes Members are invited to the stage to spontaneously speak on a subject 2-3 minutes An evaluator typically points out several aspects of the speech like timing, grammar, fillers, structure along with suggestions for areas to improve upon

Sargent At Arms (SAA) opens the meeting President addresses the members and guests Master of Ceremony (MoC) sets the theme of the meeting General Evaluator (GE) explains his role with TAG team Table Topic Master(TTM) begins Table topics section Prepared speakers(2-3) delivers speeches Networking and snacks President announces the best speakers for the day and closes the meeting Vote for best speaker of the day in individual categories GE provide feedback for all the role-takers and overall meeting Table topics speakers (3-6) talk on the given topic impromptu Speech evaluators give feedback on prepared speeches
