15 TIM COOK: “I’m proud to Be Gay”
While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now. So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me. “Part of social progress is understanding that a person is not defined only by one's sexuality, race, or gender.” I don’t consider myself an activist, but I realize how much I’ve benefited from the sacrifice of others. So if hearing that the CEO of Apple is gay can help someone struggling to come to terms with who he or she is, or bring comfort to anyone who feels alone, or inspire people to insist on their equality, then it’s worth the trade-off with my own privacy.

16 Prime Minister of Luxembourg
Marries His Beau Xavier Bettel is the world's only current head of government to be legally married to a same-sex spouse. Luxembourg's out prime minister, Xavier Bettel, married his longtime partner, Gauthier Destinay, Friday, making them the world's only openly gay "first couple," to borrow an American term, Luxembourger Wort is reporting.   "I wouldn't have thought that 33 years later I would officiate his wedding and that to as lovely a man as Gauthier,"  "I have just one life, and I don't want to hide my life," Bettel told the Times. "But I was not the 'gay candidate.' … People didn't vote for me because I'm gay or I'm straight."  This year Luxembourg became the 17th nation to enact marriage equality. Bettel is only the second head of government worldwide to marry a same-sex partner while in office, the first being Iceland Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir, who wed Jonina Leosdottir in 2010 by changing their civil union to a marriage when Iceland legalized same-sex marriage.
