Student's Name Double-click on “Student’s Name” to change to your own name and to change text formatting. To insert your own picture: click on the boy’s picture and delete it. Then select Insert>Picture and choose From File or From Scanner or Camera. Adjust picture via the Picture toolbar. See the Portfolio Builder manual for information on preparing your pictures for PowerPoint. To add a link to the school’s Web site: highlight the school’s name and select Slide Show>Action Settings, then type in the school’s URL. Name of School Grade Level Dates

Delete this text and type in or copy and paste a short essay about the student’s portfolio. This can be done by the student or for younger students by the teacher. Note things to look for or things the student is especially proud of. To insert an audio greeting, connect a microphone and select Insert>Movies and Sounds>Record Sound.

Write a short biography of the student, including hobbies or special interests. Delete the boy’s picture and replace with the student’s (use Insert>Picture>From File or From Scanner or Camera). Resize text box or picture by dragging a corner handle. Adjust picture via the Picture toolbar (View>Toolbars>Picture).

Change subject buttons as desired or add more subject buttons via the Autoshapes tool in the Drawing toolbar. Format buttons by double-clicking on them. Buttons are already linked to subject screens. Add links or edit via the Slide Show>Action Settings command. For less subjects, delete the button and then delete the screens for that subject number (by using Edit>Delete Slide on each unneeded slide).

Student can provide a list of objectives that the projects in their portfolio demonstrate (with links to the individual projects). Teacher or school can also provide a list of required standards/proficiencies and students can just link those to their projects. To set the links: select the text and choose Slide Show>Action Settings>Hyperlink To>Slide. Then select the slide with the corresponding project.

27 References: Enter references or bibliography for work in the portfolio. Can also include links to Web sites used as references. Student types in references for projects included in the portfolio. Student can use APA or any reference style required by the school. For more information on citing references, visit Student can also include links to Web sites used for reference. To set a link: type the name of the site, select it and then select Slide Show>Action Settings> Hyperlink To>URL. Type in the address of the Web site.

28 Summary Comments: Students, teachers, parents or others can add comments about their reactions to the entire portfolio. Viewers of the portfolio can type in comments about the portfolio here. Assessment is on the next screen. To hide viewing of this slide in Slide Show mode, choose Slide Show>Hide Slide now and type H when viewing previous slide in the slide show. Make copies of this screen, as needed, via Insert>Duplicate Slide.

29 Summary Assessment: Teacher or others can give an overall assessment of the entire portfolio. Teacher types in assessment here. Include grade, score or rubric if desired. Delete slide, if not required, using Edit>Delete Slide. To hide viewing of this slide in a slide show, choose Slide Show>Hide Slide and type H when viewing previous slide in Slide Show mode. Exit
