2 Graduation Requirements
Credits = 25 minimum 4 (each) Math/English/Social Studies 3 Science Driver Ed/Health/Phys. Ed 1.5/Assess Prep MS office (.5 credit) 1 technology 5 electives Graduation Project (will show up in May senior year on transcript)

3 Graduation Project Labor Based Indicator-Professional Certification
Life Guard, Referee, First Aid, Babysitting, CPR Must be current and valid 8 Artifacts (grades 9-11) + the 12 from k-8 Individual Career Plan 2-3 job shadows due BEFORE senior year- Must total at least 9 hours 3 to satisfy the Labor Based Indicator 12 hours Community Service- documentation due Nov senior year 60 to satisfy the Labor Based Indicator Resume- Senior English Class Autobiographical Exit paper-Senior English Class Exit Interview- Senior Year What to do about missing components __________________________________________ Keystone Exams Biology, Algebra, Literature-remediation for Algebra

4 Attendance Reminder - no credit will be given for classes that are missed 20 times or more for a semester course. No credit will be given for classes that are missed 40 times or more that are full year courses. Strictly enforced- Be Careful Colleges/Scholarships/employment/military receive the attendance report when you request a transcript to be sent.

5 SAT/ACT Preparation Remember- the colleges are looking at high school grades, activities, community service, and SAT scores for admission. Students have access to collegeboard.com- Students made a username and password grade 9 in MS office class I have a copy of the username and password if your child does not remember it. I recommend using the SAT/ACT practice at least 2 X a week. Khan Academy prep program (Free)

Register online or Fee waivers for those who are on free/reduced lunch- see Mrs. D Privately Juniors should take the SAT December-October senior year And ACT February- October

Transcripts ( order forms available on line) $1.00 fee or NEW!!! Parchment electronic transcripts- Free- logins mailed home and given out to students last week Many colleges accept the Parchment transcripts

8 College Applications Apply early (summer- end of October)- Be sure to watch for applications for Varying open and close dates Transcripts can be sent after applications SAT/ACT scores can be sent after applications 3 Fee waivers on Collegeboard link if used for SAT Recommendations- Pre recommendation sheets or RESUME-ask EARLY Have someone read and proof Essays Common Application - YES!!!!!! College visits over summer -YES!!!!! Apply then visit- YES!!!!!!

9 Grade Conversion to 4.0 Scale Core classes
Example English = C = 2 Social Studies = B= 3 Honors math = A+ = 5 PE = A (not counted – only .5 credit) Assign above points to final grades in full credit classes only and add = 10 Divide total by total number of full credits 10/3 = 3.33 If you use ALL classes it is same method BUT multiply grade points by credits (A=4 x .5 credit class = 2

To register for division 1 or 2 athletic programs They will review your courses, grades, test scores Core Class GPA only Division 1 GPA 2.3 SAT sliding scale Division 2 GPA SAT 820 (R+M) Register to Vote – age 18 – applications available in the guidance office Men age 18 MUST register with the Selective Service

11 Dual Enrollment/Independent Study
Dual Enrollment/College Within the High School College Credit & High School Credit earned simultaneously Seton Hill University, Duqesne University, University of Pittsburgh Westminster College Early College Program Independent Study ONLY if class does not fit in schedule VLN courses $650/course Transfer Credits NONE are calculated into GPA ALL must be pre approved before registering. Paperwork is obtained and filed in guidance and submitted to Principal and the Superintendent.
