2 What is coding as literacy ?
Coding as literacy is centred around learning how to have leverage over technology moving us away from simple interaction with devices and how to control these devices and interact with them

3 What does it promote ? Collaborative writing Problem solving
Logical thinking Improving on social skills A love of computing Collaboration Selective information Computational thinking

4 Why is it being pushed ? By 2020 there will be over 1.4 million computing jobs but only 400,000 computer science students to fill them. Huge focus to boost national economy and global competitiveness Bridge the gap between minority groups Spurs 21st century acquisition skills that are needed for jobs.

5 Who is pushing it? CEO Of facebook Mark zuckerberg
Computer science education coalition CEO of amazon Jeff Bezo GWC ( Girls who code) These three groups currently are funding up over half of the organisations that teach and support coding. As well as bridge the gap between girls coding and minority groups.

6 What does it look like in the classroom?
Coding starts within the classroom at age 5. Coding after school clubs Cross curricular activities linked in with mathematics Coding as story telling Webquest Not just learning about how to use programs on the computer but what goes on inside of it.
