3. Ice Breaker ~Draw & Dash
Each teacher will need to use a piece of paper or a drawing app like Tackk, Educreations, Magic Paintbrush, or Sketchbook Express. Name a category like favorite dessert, cartoon, sports team and so forth for students to draw the answers to on their tablets. Give them 30 seconds. When the time is up they should lift up their drawings and run to a peer they believe drew a similar choice. Give them 1 minute to talk about their drawings and exchange one fact or experience related to the choice. Find the Knowledge Swap handout that accompanies this activity in Learning to Go.

When technology integration is at its best, a child or a teacher doesn't stop to think that he or she is using a technology tool -- it is second nature. And students are often more actively engaged in projects when technology tools are a seamless part of the learning process.

10. Station #1 Google Read and Write
Google Read and Write is an amazing tool for students to utilize voice to text and text to voice software in an easy, meaningful way. If you use Chrome you are all set to experience the amazing world of Google Read and Write. It works within Google Drive, in Chrome, on PCs, Macs and Chromebooks. It allows students with learning disabilities to access and interact with the same documents as their peers and teachers. It is a big confidence booster for anyone who needs a little support with their reading and writing.

Prediction is a useful tool for younger students. It helps spell words as you begin to type .

13. Speech Input allows you to say a sentence out loud and the computer will type the information out. This is usually beneficial for students who are better expressing themselves orally, rather than by typing or through paper pencil.

Voice Note allows you to plug in a quick voice piece to your writing as a reminder or short note. This is more useful when reading a scanned text then on a document
Fact Finder allows you to do a google search relative to a word you chose. Simply highlight the word with your cursor and press the fact finder symbol.
Highlighter allows you simply pick the colour you want and highlight the word you want highlighted. There are 4 colours to choose from and each one has a different function. You use these the same way for all scanned texts and uploaded files.

15. Vocabulary allows you to collect a bank of vocabulary words that may be useful for you when working on all your documents. Simply highlight the words ( yellow highlighter only) in the text that you want to create a vocabulary list for. Click the Vocabulary Icon and a new document page will open up. It will provide a definition as well as some picture symbols associated with the word.You can also insert your own notes based on the words you chose.

16. Typewrite annotation allows you to add text if needed that is visible while you read. For instance if you have found the Main idea or the Problem in the story you can add a Typewriter note as a reminder as you continue to read on.
With the use of Google Read and Write within scanned text (textbook work and handouts), assignments, assessments, and uploaded files, every student will have the confidence to put forth the effort that is needed to complete specific tasks. They will know the feeling of success and carry that throughout all their daily tasks.
