11 What is Library Search? Library Search is the University Library’s new search system. It is a one-search interface across all of our library online and print content. Provides a single search box to find books, articles, databases and more. It removes the need to separately search WebCat and DelphiS. Library Search is the University Library’s new search system. 12 When to use Library Search?
Library Search provides broad searches across a large number of resources Useful particularly at first year level and for initial research purposes. Does not replace the importance of using subject-specific and relevant multi- disciplinary databases. These databases are particularly useful for students in their second year and above. 13 Accessing Library Search
Multiple access points: login to sussed.soton.ac.uk, select the Library tab and then the Library Search icon Quick Links on the Library webpages and Subject Guides Library Search URL is You can access Library Search via multiple access points. Accessing via SUSSED is an easy way to access Library Search. You will need to login into SUSSED using your university username and password. There are other access points on the university webpages. There might also be access points on faculty homepages.

14 Library Search Click the Library Search image to access it. Explore searching across the wide range of resources available. Select Help at the top of the screen to access the Library Search help page.

15 Training resources The Library Search Help page provides an introductory video, a quick guide, an advanced guide, FAQs and contact options. Click the image to access it.

33 Student Academic Skills Hub (SASH) (5 mins)
The Student Academic Skills Hub offers support with: Academic Integrity, Study Skills, Writing Skills, Research Skills The Hub (Level 2, Hartley library) is open Monday-Friday, – 12.00, –  please drop in and speak to an advisor, no need to book an appointment We also offer a range of workshops – you will need to book a place on these (supplementary activity: spend time exploring the SASH pages for yourself)
