3. Exception: if there is a vowel before the -y: play plays, pray prays

*he, she, it: in the third person singular the verb always ends in -s: he wants, she needs, he gives, she thinks.
*Negative and question forms use DOES +the infinitive of the verb. He wants. Does he want? He does not want.
Other rules
*Verbs ending in -y : the third person changes the -y to -ies: fly  flies, cry  cries
Exception: if there is a vowel before the -y: play  plays, pray  prays
*Add -es to verbs ending in:-ss, -x, -sh, -ch: he passes, she catches, he fixes, it pushes

4. Present continuous (affirmative, negative).
Use the Present Continuous to express the idea that something is happening now, at this very moment .
Affirmative Negative

SUBJECT + TO BE + VERB+ing
SUBJECT +TO BE + not + VERB+ing

5. Present continuous (interrogative).
What are you watching on T.V?
Where is he living now?
Why is she crying?
Who are they talking about?
If the verb has only ONE syllable and if those letters are a CONSONANT + VOWEL + CONSONANT, then you repeat that last consonant before adding the ing.
Hop ___hopping run ___running
Sit ___sitting shop___shopping
Question word +TO BE +SUBJECT + VERB+ing

6. Present simple and present continuous.
